Dr. Arthur White is a highly regarded biologist from NSW, with a research interest in Australian amphibians, and he runs a well-respected environmental consulting business, “Biosphere Environmental Consulting Pty Ltd”. He is also President of the Frog and Tadpole Study Group of NSW. One of the longstanding activities of FATS has been the rescue and rehabilitation of frogs (e.g. those from other states that end up lost and alone at Sydney’s central produce markets).
Dr. White is one of Australia’s foremost experts on frog handling and diseases and will be giving a special seminar on “Safe Frog Handling and Hygiene” at 12 pm – 1 pm on Monday, March 21st in the Richardson. All students and staff are most welcome to attend.
Clean up Roseworthy Day has been scheduled for April 29th. All staff are kindly requested to start identifying equipment items that are to be put into storage or that are to be disposed of. More information on how to identify this equipment will be forthcoming.

The Faculty has recently changed the format of this feature that appears in the Education Now liftout in Tuesday’s Advertiser during school terms. The focus of this change is to match our articles with the 10 Big questions. The Faculty first year directors will be looking for authors who can contribute to these questions and I have attached a recent contribution to give you a idea of the new format.
If you wish to contribute please contact myself so I can give you the schedule for the themes.
Thanks

Please try to remember to log off from your computer after your lectures. If this does not happen, anyone will be able to access your files from the lecture theatres.
PLEASE BE MORE RESPONSIBLE WHEN USING THE SCHOOL VEHICLES. We seem to have lost the book for the White Commodore and the car also seems to have returned without any fuel. This certainly makes it dificult for the next person.
As the School is increasing in staff and student numbers, the use of cars and North Terrace parking permits will also be at a premium. We therefore ask that everyone is more careful to ensure bookings are made before taking the cars and/or parking permits and also that these are returned immediately after use. Unfortunately, we have had many incidents recently where staff and students have had to make last minute arrangements, because despite making appropriate bookings, the car (permit) have not been returned on time. If no formal booking is made and the car/permit is taken, we have no avenue to check when they will be returned. WE ASK FOR YOUR ASSISTANCE TO MAKE THIS PROCESS WORK.
I know this may not work every time, but if you are heading out to a meeting/event, it would also be worth checking if anyone else is going so that you can car-pool.
